About the film
Soldiers and rebels clash across a slum capital after a respected officer is killed in action. A self taught filmmaker turns borrowed cameras and homemade effects into helicopter raids, kung fu duels, and a running live commentary.
Cultural context
Made in the Wakaliga slum of Kampala on a budget of a few hundred dollars, it grew into a global cult favorite and put Uganda's DIY action film scene, known as Wakaliwood, on the map.
